Avi & Ranjon | In Loving Memory

Avi and Ranjon have been on my mind a lot lately.

Lost in the catastrophic Nepalese floods -- I've stayed in touch with their families, prayed with their widows, and sent more than just thoughts and prayers to those still reeling from their loss.

In these tumultuous days, I've found it therapeutic and uplifting to remember some of the lessons they taught me and probably thousands of others along the way.

Things like "Leave yesterday on the mountain. Today we begin again." Or how about, "One step, one breath at a time." Or one of my favorites -- "It's not a race. You don't have to get there at a certain time."

Remembering these lessons and sharing them with you helps us to know them as more than just guides. As more than victims of climate change disaster. As more than the sum of their parts.
